Run For Life

The Run for Life Initiative is the College’s own charity fundraising project. Deeply rooted in our Lasallian tradition, money is raised through sponsorship with the central focus of fundraising being the annual Run for Life Sponsored Run/Walk held every November. Since 2001 the school community of St. Benildus College have raised more than 940,000 and in 2022/23 we raised over 50,000. In the 2023/24 academic year we will seek to break the 1 million euro mark for funds raised. Many local, national and international charitable causes benefit from our campaign. Charities that have benefited in recent years include the St. Vincent de Paul in the local parishes, local Special Olympics Clubs and sports clubs which cater for young people with special needs. Run for Life also supports the National Children’s Hospital Crumlin, The Aisling Murphy Fund and the Leopardstown Ukrainian Support Group. We support other worthy causes as diverse as Aware, Ballinteer Mens Shed, CanTeen and Blood Bikes East to name but a few

The Run for Life fundraising activities help enrich the school experience for students and draw on the good will of the whole school community, students, parents, teachers and friends alike. Many of the valuable skills learned during our students days in the college occur through extracurricular activities and opportunities to volunteer. We strongly encourage all of the boys to volunteer and become involved in whatever way possible.
