We would like to welcome you to the St Benildus College website. The education provided at St Benildus College addresses the needs of second level students in Ireland today. Our teaching and learning methodologies are at the forefront of educational reform, which includes national and international trends towards providing young people with a more holistic and thoughtful educational experience, while promoting the highest academic standards.
Our teachers consistently update their teaching strategies and adapt to changes in academic assessment and curricular reform, as and when they occur. To oppose change in education, is to oppose education itself, and that is why here at St Benildus College we embrace innovation in developing teaching and learning strategies and welcome new ideas from every member of our school community.
By its very nature, education is an evolving phenomenon which requires schools to revise how they meet the needs of students at a given time. We are constantly investing and updating the physical infrastructure of our school, our classrooms, specialist rooms and sporting facilities, in line with the highest national and international standards. All of our school staff work in a collaborative manner to provide an environment which allows for academic, emotional, social and physical growth of the students in our care.
Our students are provided with an environment which gives them the opportunities to grow and develop as healthy individuals, and are encouraged to develop resilience, self-awareness and a strong work ethic in order to meet the needs of an ever changing world. We provide an education for our students which encourages them to develop a consciousness, not just of how their actions reflect their own character, but also of the impact their actions have on the people and the world around them. We listen to and encourage student voice in a mutually respectful manner. Every opportunity is afforded to our students to reach their potential academically, socially, emotionally and physically, where each student is valued and their contribution welcomed.
